What are Loomix® Cooked Molasses Tubs?
Loomix® Cooked Molasses Tubs go through a process which "cooks" off the moisture of the molasses, developing a product with a specific hardness to assure a desired free-choice intake. As cattle lick the product and via moisture in the air, a layer of the top portion of the tub softens, allowing a limited amount of supplement to be consumed by individual animals. A variety of ingredients are included in the formulations to design the tubs with nutrient levels to complement a number of feeding scenarios. Loomix® Cooked Molasses Tubs are designed to provide the appropriate level of protein, minerals, and vitamins to cattle, enabling them to more efficiently utilize the forage sources they are consuming.

Loomix® 20% AN Tub
The Loomix® 20% AN Tub is a supplement that provides protein without the inclusion of urea, supplemental macro minerals, trace minerals and vitamins in a convenient free-choice form. The Loomix® 20% AN Tub is designed for self feeding to growing cattle and mature breeding cattle on pasture or roughage rations that are of average quality. The Loomix® 20% AN Tub is available in a 200 lb container.
Loomix® 30% Range Tub
The Loomix® 30% Range Tub is formulated to provide a higher level of protein along with supplemental macro minerals, trace minerals and vitamins in a convenient free-choice form. Loomix® 30% Range Tubs are designed for self feeding to growing and mature breeding cattle on pasture or roughage rations that are below average quality. Loomix® 30% Range Tubs are available in a 200 lb container.
Loomix® Mineral Tub
Loomix® Mineral Tubs are designed to be fed to growing and mature breeding cattle where supplemental protein is not needed. Loomix® Mineral Tubs provide supplemental macro minerals, trace minerals and vitamins to cattle on pasture or roughage rations. Loomix® mineral Tubs are available in a 200 lb container.
Recommended Feeding Guildlines
Loomix® Cooked Molasses Tubs are to be fed free-choice to cattle on pastures or roughage rations. They should be used with late season pastures or low to moderate quality forages. The Loomix® Mineral Tub can be used in situations where additional supplemental mineral and vitamins are the main nutrients needed. Cattle must have adequate pasture or roughage available and not be starved for salt or minerals. Loomix® Cooked Molasses Tubs should be placed near loafing areas or watering locations. These Tubs should be fed at the rate of one Tub for every 10-20 head. Consumption of Loomix® Cooked Molasses Tubs will vary according to the weight of the animal and the quality and quantity of forage available to the animal. Loomix® Pressed Tubs are supplements provided in a 200 lb Tub form that is fed free choice to cattle. They are formulated to provide crude protein, trace minerals and vitamins to cattle on pasture or a high fiber diet. Loomix® Pressed Tubs are designed to provide protein from multiple sources including grain by-products, oil seed meals, and in some cases biuret to help promote maximum forage intake and rumen function.

The Loomix® 24-5 Pressed Tub is a supplement that provides multiple sources of protein, supplemental macro minerals, trace minerals and vitamins in a convenient free-choice form. The Loomix® 24-5 Pressed Tub also provides 5% fat from vegetable sources for additional energy. The Loomix® 24-5 Pressed Tub is designed for self feeding to growing cattle and mature breeding cattle on pasture or roughage rations that are of average quality. Loomix® 40% Pressed Tub
The Loomix® 40% Pressed Tub is formulated to provide multiple sources of protein including biuret along with supplemental macro minerals, trace minerals and vitamins in a convenient free-choice form. Loomix® 40% Pressed Tubs are designed for self feeding to growing and mature breeding cattle on pasture or roughage rations that are lower than average quality. Loomix® 40% Pressed Tubs are available in a 200 lb container.
What is Biuret?
The Loomix® 40% Pressed Tub is formulated with multiple sources of protein to provide a more consistent supply of nitrogen to the rumen. Protein is broken down into nitrogen in the rumen, which is used by the rumen microbes to more efficiently multiply and digest fiber. Some sources of protein release their nitrogen in the rumen very quickly (urea) and some sources of protein release their nitrogen in the rumen over a longer period of time. Biuret is a source of non-protein nitrogen (NPN) similar to urea. However, due to biuret's unique chemical properties, the nitrogen from biuret has a much slower degradation rate in the rumen, more similar to soybean meal. The use of biuret gives you a more cost effective source of protein from NPN while providing the safety of a natural protein source. The multiple sources of protein found in Loomix® 40% Pressed Tubs include plant protein sources, biuret and low levels of urea that are combined to develop a supplement that provides a uniform and constant degradation of nitrogen within the rumen, thereby helping to provide optimal rumen function and animal performance.

Loomix® Pressed Tubs are to be fed free-choice to cattle on pastures or roughage rations. They should be used with late season pastures or low to moderate quality forages. Cattle must have adequate pasture or roughage available and are not starved for salt or minerals. Tubs should be placed near loafing areas or watering locations and should be fed at the rate of one Tub for every 15-20 head. Consumption of Loomix® Pressed Tubs will vary according to the weight of the animal and the quality and quantity of forage available to the animal. If consumption of Loomix® Pressed Tubs are lower than desired, be sure other sources of salt are removed.
